While the modern knowledge of western society is an objective knowledge constructed on the basis of the truth of facts, the Confucian knowledge is characterized by the subjective knowledge which is the prerequisite for the morality and practicality. Therefore Confucian knowledge consists of several components of knowledge such as the truth of facts, the belief justified by intellectual nature of mind, and the leaning through practice. Though Confucian knowledge doesn't disrespect an objective truth, it will not be regarded as a real knowledge unless morality and practicability based on intellectual nature of mind is not accompanied. Based of this aspect, confucian knowledge is different from western scientific knowledge which is characterized by goal-rational and value-free. From the perspective of western history of intelligence, Confucian knowledge is still in the low step for reason seperation of fact, morality, and value. But there are more implications to compensate paradox of enlightenment that western modern knowledge faced. On the other hand, Confucian knowledge can be helpful to compose the integrated knowledge either between fact and value, or haman and nature. Confucian knowledge also will contribute to pay attention to the problem of abstraction and unreality of the modern western knowledge. Finally, Confucian knowledge is useful for overcoming the problem of alienation in the western knowledge.

T'oegye Lee Hwang was a great philosopher and poet. He was a typical moralist, but on the other hand, he admitted the independent significance of the literature. The fact that he wrote more than two thousand poems bears this out. Therefore, we have to comprehend not only his philosophic rationality but also his artistic sensibility to understand his thoughts. The Tao that T'oegye tried to clarify through poems includes not only truth and moral value, but also aesthetic value. He tried to illuminate the principle of life and objects, promote the moral consciousness, and he actively pursued the aesthetic through the poems. This will show us a different world-view and life-spirit that we could not see in his philosophy. T'oegye attached great importance to the spirit of artistic play in study. Play is an act that makes people contemplate objests without regards to their conventional uses, letting them get out of every restriction and enjoy liberty in the imaginative world. There is a full of pleasant sensation issuing from this sort of artistic play in T'oegye's aesthetic consciousness. And thereby he got relaxed from mental stress and restriction that moral reason gives. It does not mean that his aesthetics weakened the moral consciousness. Conversely, the former made the latter stronger.

People's lives are made of various kinds and ways of meetings. The nature of a meeting lies in communication. Communication has the meaning of 'free come and go of material or signs' among the people in a meeting. As there is no communication without a meeting, there is no meeting without communication. The purpose of this research is to inquire and find with emphasis on the concept of 'communication culture' social conditions that ask, reveal and grow our individual sizes of happiness living in a world of small 'courtesy culture' size. Therefore, this research, while finding the concept of communication and meeting in a person's life, interprets the size of man and life in a relation with the size of world, and inquires on social conditions of an individual's happiness based on concepts of size of communication culture and increasing the size of communication culture. In doing so, bearing in mind increasing the size of communication culture, the basic logic and picture of Korean society's small size of communication culture, which is the cause and outcome of numerous social diseases and personal alienation, is looked into. In Korean society with strong hierarchical collectivism, it is not difficult to find a tendency of a single person or a small portion of people speaking and deciding on behalf of all. The issue of rationally reflecting and improving the various personal and social conditions, methods and effects of increasing the size of communication culture can be solved by opening a place of communication by people in question, both on their own and together, in an effort to open, share and develop thoughts. Such a place of communication can be opened in various ways on various levels such as family, local community, school, company, church, public place and media. Whether a specialist or not, this way or that way, it is important to think and come up together with ways for various people to gather to freely, logically and persuasively express their opinions. From difference to opening leads to meeting with difference, communication with difference, and finally to 'different people living as same people'.

This study is intended to analyze the meaning and contents on the creative use of leisure time through the unitary world view. Actually, the modern life is based on the modern view of hunam being. The modern civilization has pursued the satisfaction of human being's desire and tries to accomplished it. Nowadays the achievement of the modern civilization comes to the various social problems because of industralization. It brought about many problems of human life in different aspect of modern society as well as alienation of human's life and environmental problems. Leisure time is rapidly increasing by the new technological innovation and high-tech industry. It is expanded the average human beings life scale. But by the development of society, modern people is alienated in his life as well as his labour with the product that he made. That is the same in the area of leisure, too. So, we should find to overcome the alienation of leisure time the everyday life. One of the crucial cause of alienation is modern view of human being. Modern people‘s leisure life has got a lot of possibility to pursue pleasure which might be nothing but waste time and to make human's ego separated. These pattern of using leisure time is just banishing human's life time and making the destructive aspect of human and world life. Thus one can avoid the alienation of leisure in modern society, he shoud be free himself from the separated ego. The unitary world view can provide a new perspective of leisure time. It is material that post-modern implications. First, it can be agreement with the new social structure of post-modern society. Second, it would have human being free from obsession of modern view of world. Third, it can contribute to the humanization of all aspect of life in the sense of post-modernism. As mentioned above, unitary world view can have new vision for the creative use of leisure time. It could be analyzed in two ways. The method is to use leisure to reify the ability to love oneself. So we can specify by all aspect the ability of love as follows. First we cans use leisure time to build the ability to love oneself. Second, using leisure time to make to love another. The third thing is to use leisure time to enjoy loving. The creative use of leisure time has crucial implication to all mankind in this post-modern society. The contemporary people is undergoing on great of civilization from modern society to post-modern society. The current period would be requested new vision of life and civilization urgently. The area of leisure is now confronted with new perspective. The discussion on the creative leisure time in this study can contribute to crucial perception to give liberty and emancipation on humanity and great progress in new civilization.

During the last three-year tenure of President Lee has increased social inequality in the Korean society tremendously. As this government was launched, President Lee and his government have pushed ahead the doctrines of the neoliberalism like deregulation, flexibilization, and privatization more than ever. In this frame, Lee's government has amended the fair trade act, in which has been abolished the ceiling on total amount of shareholding of other domestic companies and deregulated the law on the financial holding company. With permitting Business Capital Market Integration Act has this government helped self-financing of big companies. The big companies could have strengthened in this process their market power. By the way, policy of lower taxation has turned out favorably for wealthy persons. On the contrary, Lee's government has cut down expenditure of social welfare severely. Consequently, quality of the ordinary people' life has been gradually getting worse and as well as level of polarization in our society. This government has turned away and gave no proper answer to this situation. Buddhist Priest Munsu has requested political and social engagement of buddhists through self-immolation(燒身供養) so as to reverse present nonintervention policy of state. From this point of vew, this article aims to analyze cause of social polarization owing to neoliberalism and, therefore, to explain, how intervention and active role of state could be possible in the meaning of the Buddhism.

This study aims at reinterpreting Ta Yu(大有) in I Ching(易經). Ta Yu can be interpreted as possession in great measure by throw away. Then what is the meaning Ta Yu gives to us? In these 50 years Korean established political democracy and economic growth that western countries did in 3 or 4 hundred years. We call it condensing growth. But in the process of condensing growth we captured by condensing conflict. One of the results of conflicts is the most miserable olds in the worlds. But this circumstance is a great chance to be master of freedom. As Ta Yu teaches us the great possession can be accomplished by throw away. In reinterpreting Ta Yu I can sketch a throw away education.

The discussion on alienation is the core area of sociology but the modern sociology is overlooking this in spite of the seriousness of human alienation in reality. This problem comes from the world view of modern sociology. which cognizes the world on the basis of modernity. The modern society, the subject of which is the alienation, is the one that has developed on the modern world view. It is same that the theology that is based on the world view of Christianity can not understand the alienation of Middle Ages that had developed on the basis of world view of Christianity. Given this, this paper attempts to construct a new theory of alienation of modern human beings on the foundation of the unified view of world. This paper discusses four main points. Firstly, the normal human being who is not alienated is described on the basis of unified view of world. This person can be stated as the one who realizes herself/himself as a universal being and who is filled with love enjoying the life. Secondly, the aspects of human alienation in modern society are examined. The human alienation can be seen in the life that constantly struggles to expand the ego, in the pursuit of spending money and pleasure, and in the losers in the battle of expanding ego. Thirdly, the ways of overcoming the alienation of modern human beings are discussed on the foundation of unified view of world. The key point suggested in this paper for the way of overcoming alienation is the realization of self as a universal being. Lastly, the implication of the new theory of alienation is stated in this paper. This is important in two ways: in the theoretical sense, the discussion can give an answer to overcome the crisis of modern sociology and, in practical sense, it can suggest a new way of life to construct a new civilization.
